And so to Saratoga. Another attractive outdoor venue – but with very good cover against the elements, which thankfully was not needed, as the dreaded Hurricane Henri seems to have stayed away.
The “Day of Show Information Sheet”, as supplied by the promoters, Live Nation, read as follows:
Expected Attendance : 2 – 3,500
Expected Demo : 30s-50s. Mostly Female.
It is true that the audiences have been getting significantly younger, and more mixed. But “30 – 50s. Mostly Female” remains an unlikely description of a King Crimson audience. If that is where they targeted their advertising, it is perhaps not surprising that the attendance fell somewhat shy of their expected 3,500.
These shows continue to be extraordinary.
